Commissioner Tim Brown will serve as Vice President of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio in 2012.  Pictured below is Commissioner Tim Brown (Wood County), and President Deborah Lieberman (Montgomery County).

Commissioner Brown recently commissioned local artist Daniel Chudzinski to sculpt an American Bald Eagle for display at the Wood County Courthouse. The artist, Dan Chudzinski, is a recent graduate of B.G.S.U. with a Masters of Fine Arts degree in 3-D studies (sculpture).  "I am so happy with Dan's work and his passion for the arts. He is another fine example of B.G.S.U's commitment to diverse higher educational opportunities and I am honored to have the experience of working with him."

 

The community recently held a salute to my friend and colleague Alvie Perkins for his 40 years of service to the citizens of Wood County (23 years as our County Commissioner).  I am honored to work with Alvie for so many years!

                                    

 

Tim Brown, serves as chairman of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Government's (TMACOG) Air Quality committee and has been a leader in helping to reshape Northwest Ohio's role in the environment by spearheading an initiative to plant native trees, bushes and grasses along our roadways.  This endeavor has resulted in thousands of trees being planted to beautify our highway system, reduce emissions and the costs to ODOT of mowing.  It is estimated that these trees take in 27,000 pounds of carbon dioxide every year through carbon sequestration - helping our environment and making our air cleaner in Northwest, Ohio.  (Tim Brown pictured here at a press conference with officials from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), the Department of Natural Resources - Division of Forestry, and TMACOG.)

Commissioner Brown believes it is important to work with state and federal officials to make sure the voices of Wood County citizens are heard.  (Commissioner Brown pictured discussing issues of local concern with the late U.S. Congressman Paul Gillmor, a mentor and great friend!)


 

Being active in Wood County's communities is an important part of serving all of our citizens.  Tim Brown remains very involved in those events that celebrate our quality of life.  (Pictured here participating in the annual Harrison Rally Parade in Perrysburg.)

On Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at 10:00 am, the Wood County Commissioners James F. Carter, Tim W. Brown and Alvin L. Perkins adopted the official flag of Wood County. The Ohio Bicentennial Commission requested Ohio’s County Commissioners provide a county flag for use as part of a display at the Statehouse in Columbus. The Wood County Commissioners charged the County’s Buildings and Grounds Committee with the responsibility of creating and recommending a flag design to the Commissioners for adoption, as no county flag existed.

The flag is on display in the gallery area of the Office of the County Commissioners for citizens to view. Commemorative flag stickers are available to citizens who stop by the Commissioners office to view the flag.
